The Fort Wayne Philharmonic will join the Conductors Guild to present an International Conductor Training Workshop designed to provide ten conductors and four auditor conductors with instruction on the principles and techniques of the most celebrated conducting teacher of the twentieth century, Ilya Musin.
Over a legendary teaching career spanning 60 years, Ilya Musin students included Vassily Sinaisky, Valery Gergiev, Ennio Nicotra, Yuri Temirkanov, Sian Edwards, Semyon Bychkov, Andrew Constantine, Konstantin Simeonov, Victor Fedotov, Martin Brabbins and many others.
The workshop is a continuation of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic's International Conductor Workshop and will be led by Musin protégé and internationally renowned conducting teacher, Ennio Nicotra. Also featured will be Fort Wayne Philharmonic Music Director Andrew Constantine.
Past Fort Wayne Philharmonic workshops brought aspiring young conductors from several different countries and continents to Fort Wayne to hone their skills in an intensive, fast-paced, and supportive environment. The workshop schedule will include a combination of extensive orchestral rehearsal sessions with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, two pianos, plus individual lessons, and a concluding public performance on Thursday, February 15, 2018.
