Planned Giving
“Let the music live forever!”
Are you invested in leaving an indelible impact on Northeast Indiana? When you establish a planned gift to the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, your legacy guarantees a vibrant future of live symphonic music in Northeast Indiana for generations to come.
From our inception, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic has relied on deferred gifts as a crucial aspect of maintaining exemplary artistry, enriching local culture, and offering invaluable music education resources to our community. Most simply, a planned gift is the reassignment of one’s assets to charity of their choice. In addition to providing much appreciated and highly impactful support for Fort Wayne Philharmonic programs, a planned gift provides you and your family significant benefits.
Most notably, planned gifts…
- Provide a meaningful and lasting investment to the local arts community
- Ensure that your assets specifically benefit the Philharmonic
- Substantially decrease your income tax and estate tax obligations to your heirs through careful planned giving
In recognition of your vision and generosity, your planned giving grants you membership to the Fort Wayne Philharmonic's Laureate Circle. This is an exclusive group comprised of individuals who have established a planned gift to the Fort Wayne Philharmonic through an estate plan or other avenue. Benefits of being in the Laureate Circle are invitations to special events, Laureate Circle brunches, and acknowledgement in the Philharmonic’s Prelude program books. You may opt to have the Philharmonic acknowledge your gift privately. The Philharmonic gratefully acknowledges the generosity, foresight, and lifelong commitment of each Laureate Club member.
Simply inform the manager of your estate plans that you have named the Philharmonic as the beneficiary of a bequest in your will.
If you have already included the Fort Wayne Philharmonic in your planned giving or if you are considering doing so, please contact the Philharmonic Development Office Staff members are happy to provide you and your financial advisors additional resources to informed your planned gift giving.

The Fort Wayne Philharmonic Endowment
Seeded with $250,000 from the Ford Foundation in 1966, a group of future-thinking leaders established the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Endowment Fund. Since then it has grown through the generosity of Northeast Indiana, providing over $1 million in annual support to the orchestra. As individual and corporate contributions fluctuate with changes in the economy, the Philharmonic relies on an increasing Endowment Fund to help maintain its high standards of excellence in performance and education.
Supporting the Endowment Fund through a planned gift creates a meaningful musical legacy in Fort Wayne that will last in perpetuity. Doing so ensures the financial security of our orchestra for future generations of an organization you love.
