The fourth annual Fort Wayne Philharmonic International Conductor Workshop will take place with sessions from February 9 – 14, 2018 and a final concert featuring the participants on February 15, 2018.
The first three workshops brought aspiring young conductors from several different countries and continents to Fort Wayne to hone their skills in an intensive, fast-paced, and supportive environment under the tutelage of renowned master conducting teacher, Ennio Nicotra, providing instruction on the principles and techniques of the most celebrated conducting teacher of the twentieth century, Illa Musin.
The workshop’s schedule will include a combination of extensive orchestral rehearsal sessions and a public concert with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, two pianos and individual lessons.
Participation is open to experienced conductors aspiring to develop their professional credentials and technique. Less experienced but promising conductors developing their baton skills are also encouraged to apply. All sessions will be open to every attendee, but time with the orchestra will be allocated to the more experienced group.
Eligible applicants will require submission of a completed application form, resume, and letter of recommendation. Student conductors will also be required to submit a video recording of a recent rehearsal or performance (links to online videos preferred).
