The Fort Wayne Philharmonic has a long tradition of bringing live concert experience directly to schools throughout Northeast Indiana. Ten Fort Wayne Philharmonic chamber ensembles offer in-school educational programs that include musical performances, instrument demonstration and opportunities for student interaction. Each ensemble program is designed to address the Indiana Department of Education Standards of Learning in Music and may be crafted to support multidisciplinary themes.
Elementary Schools
The Fort Wayne Philharmonic has eight chamber ensembles available to perform in elementary schools. Ensembles represent each of different instrument group of the orchestra, including: strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion. Ensemble performances are typically booked for the entire school, with the musicians playing two, back-to-back, 35-minute performances, assembly-style.
Pre-Schools
The Fort Wayne Philharmonic also offers two ensembles specifically for pre-school classrooms. Violin and string duos are available to perform programs specifically designed for the young learner. These 25-minute performances can be booked for individual classrooms and/or an entire building, depending on the number of students.

Club Orchestra is modeled after Venezuela's "El Sistema" movement and was created to develop future generations of arts-aware and musically knowledgeable citizens. Club Orchestra increases self-esteem and teaches life lessons to students through music in an orchestra classroom. Instrument Loan Program
Every student should have the opportunity to play an instrument of their choosing. Over 100 string, brass, and woodwind instruments are available on a first-come first-served basis for musicians at any ability level. For more information, contact Sara Davis at [email protected]
