Music Director Andrew Constantine shares his excitement with this new season. “I invite you to share a journey with me and your Fort Wayne Philharmonic as we take you on a musical exploration through genres and places around the world. The 2022-23 season is filled with adventuresome music where fates and destinies often coincide but always hang in the air.”

The Paul Yergens and Virginia Yergens Rogers Foundation Masterworks Series features time-honored masterpieces and contemporary greats from Tchaikovsky to Gershwin. The first of the Philharmonic’s season ignites with Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite. Next up is a debut by locally born composer Patrick O’Malley followed by a larger-than-life performance of Carmina Burana. The new year will kick off when world renowned pianist, Yefim Bronfman takes on the lush melodies of Rachmaninoff. Then, Music Director, Andrew Constantine brings you two of his favorite pieces with Elgar’s “Falstaff” and Beethoven’s Violin Concerto. The season continues in the spring with performances of Latin themed works by Ginastera, JP Jofre, and Piazzolla featuring the unique accordion-like instrument – the bandoneon. The Philharmonic closes out the season with an electric evening of Prokofiev and Gershwin.

The Sweetwater Pops Series will be loaded with everything from heroes to classics. The season opens with Stuart Chafetz conducting “Superhero Soundtrack,” then Fort Wayne’s favorite tradition is back with Holiday Pops. Ann Hampton Callaway will give tribute to the Streisand Songbook, and we’ll hear the group “Go Now” honor the great rock tunes of the Moody Blues. The season wraps up with Andrew Constantine conducting Classic Broadway with Broadway greats Doug LaBrecque and Lisa Vroman.

The Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company Freimann Series offers audiences chamber music classics up close and personal. This series, programed by the Philharmonic musicians, will showcase female composers, and include works from Louise Farrenc, Fanny Mendelssohn, Clara Schumann, and Amy Beach.

Philharmonic President and CEO, Brittany Hall echoes Constantine’s sentiments about the vibrancy of the new season. She said, “As the new President and CEO, I am truly excited about the diverse range of programming that the Philharmonic is offering our community next season.  It is because of our dedication to serving our community that we look forward to providing you with excellent and memorable music every way we can.” A full season line up is included below.
