Currently in his 51st season with The Phil, principal bassist Adrian Mann has held a variety of other positions within the organization, including director of Gallery Concerts from 1974 to 1982, stage manager from 1994 to 2007, staff arranger since 1989 and librarian since 2007. 

He holds an Artist Diploma from the New School of Music in Philadelphia and a Master of Music and D.M.A. from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. His graduate studies were taken at Peabody Conservatory. Before coming to Fort Wayne, Mann performed with the Richmond Symphony and the Orchestra International Iuventus of Salerno, Italy.  He has served on the faculties of IPFW, the Eastern Music Festival and Oberlin Conservatory and was Director of Music and Liturgy at St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Church for twenty years. Born in New York, Mann also plays organ, bassoon and all strings and has been a musician since age 13. He and his wife, Angela, have two sons, Alex and Jonathan.
