Fort Wayne, IN – The Fort Wayne Philharmonic today announced details of its "Steel Dynamics Patriotic Pops Series," in family-friendly outdoor venues throughout Northeast Indiana, from June 26 through July 4, 2024, as part of region-wide local celebrations of the American spirit. Caleb Young returns to conduct these much-anticipated concerts featuring traditional American works such as Star-Spangled Banner, and more contemporary favorites such as music from Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, and many more.

One highlight of the evening surely will be the Armed Forces Salute, when veterans in the audience will be invited to stand when they hear the theme song from their branch of the armed services: "The Caisson Song," "Semper Paratus," "The Marines' Hymn," "The U.S. Air Force," and "Anchors Aweigh."

"Rejoining the orchestra for this important series after a break fills me with excitement," said Young. "We are ready to perform a stirring array of music for you, our cherished audiences. These concerts, featuring folk songs, marches, patriotic tunes, and important pieces of American repertoire, help pay tribute to those who have fought for our freedom. There's something profoundly moving about bringing live orchestral music to our communities, inspired by the great outdoors and the enduring American spirit."

All concerts are free to the public and are made possible by the generous support of Steel Dynamics.
