Yefim Bronfman, piano

Beethoven’s “Heroic Symphony, composed to celebrate the memory of a great man,” stands on its own despite his withdrawing that dedication when Napoleon crowned himself emperor that same year. It remains a watershed in Beethoven’s career and the transition from the classical to the romantic era. We welcome Israeli-American pianist Yefim Bronfman, among the most acclaimed and admired interpreters of Beethoven’s piano concertos the world over.
