The Board of Directors of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic announces that its annual gala fundraiser and auction, PHILharmoniousPlay It Forward, will return once again to The Clyde Theatre on Friday, June 7, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. Co-chairs Carole Fuller and Ben Eisbart today announced details associated with the event.

PHILharmonious:  Play It Forward will also celebrate the Philharmonic’s 75th Anniversary, supporting education and community engagement programs and insuring a future filled with glorious quality on behalf of everyone in Northeast Indiana.

The gala returns to the art deco masterpiece, The Clyde Theatre, known for its midcentury modern architecture and unparalleled sound system. The Clyde will offer a “second to none” backdrop for a gourmet dinner, entertainment, live and silent auctions, and an exciting visual and illuminating spectacle.

Said music director Andrew Constantine and PHILharmonious Honorary Chair:  “Support of PHILharmonious will kick-start a chain reaction of generosity that brightens the lives of countless young people, seniors, and citizens for years to come. PHILharmoniousPlay It Forward will insure the continuance of the Philharmonic’s quality education and community engagement programs.”

Said Co-Chair Carole Fuller:  “All season long the Fort Wayne Philharmonic performs on stage, in schools, hospitals, care facilities, and throughout the region – in venues where it can make the biggest difference. Sponsorship, attendance, and support of PHILharmonious will enable us to reach those with the greatest need. Please help us Play it Forward!," said co-chair Carole Fuller.

Said co-chair Ben Eisbart:  “What a magical way to enjoy great food, superb company, and wonderful music while at the same time making all the work of the Phil possible...see you at Philharmonious!”

In 1949, Clyde Quimby commissioned architect A.M. Strauss to develop plans for the Clyde Theatre at Quimby Village. Opened on April 19, 1951 as a 1,782-seat movie theatre, the Clyde served generations of citizens before closing in 1993. Today this art deco masterpiece has survived the test of time having been reborn as Fort Wayne’s newest arts facility. The main performance hall consists of over 21,000 sq. ft. of floor space and is now utilized as a 2,150-seat capacity, general admission, multi-functional concert hall and special events center.
