Alex Laskey joined the Fort Wayne Philharmonic as second horn in 2018.

In 2017, Alex graduated from the Colburn Conservatory in Los Angeles where he studied with Andrew Bain, principal horn of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Prior to that Alex received his Bachelor’s degree from DePaul University in his home town of Chicago. It was there that he was a regular member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and studied with members of the Chicago Symphony and Lyric Opera of Chicago. 

Along with with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Alex has performed as a guest musician on multiple occasions with the Chicago Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Virginia Symphony, and New World Symphony among other ensembles. He has also been a member of several summer orchestras including The Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, California, The National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, Colorado, and The American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. 

In addition to playing with several great orchestras, Alex has been fortunate enough to perform with many fantastic conductors including Ricardo Muti, Gustavo Dudamel, Michael Tilson Thomas, and John Williams with whom he has recorded.
